The chapter that works for the people who hunt.
We’re hunters, conservationists, business owners, veterans, teachers, kids’ parents, and grandparents. We’re also one of the most active SCI chapters in the region — and we have the receipts to prove it.
A chapter built around the work, not the trophies.
The East Ohio / Northwest Pennsylvania Chapter of Safari Club International was founded by a handful of local hunters who recognized that hunting’s future wouldn’t defend itself. Since then, we’ve grown into a regional network of members from across both states — people who hunt close to home, hunt the West, and hunt continents away, but who all share one understanding: the privilege of pursuing wildlife comes with the obligation to protect it.
We’re a 501(c) non-profit organization. We hold one major fundraiser a year. Every dollar that doesn’t go to keeping the lights on goes back into the field — into youth shooting programs, conservation grants, veteran outreach, and sensory safari events for the visually impaired.
Our Region
Our chapter serves hunters across East Ohio — Columbiana, Mahoning, Trumbull, Stark, Carroll, Jefferson, and surrounding counties — and Northwest Pennsylvania — Mercer, Lawrence, Crawford, Venango, Erie, and beyond.
Most of our work happens in our own backyard. Our funded projects have included the Pennsylvania Game Commission, the Ohio Division of Wildlife, the Millcreek Marksmen 4-H Club, school habitat projects in Venango County, VA hospital fishing outings, Soldiers and Sailors missions, and more.
Five Programs. One Mission.
Education
We fund the American Wilderness Leadership School (AWLS), the Millcreek Marksmen 4-H Club, and teacher training that brings hunting and conservation back into classrooms. Tomorrow's hunters and tomorrow's voters are the same people — we make sure both understand what's at stake.
Conservation
Through SCI's Matching Grants program, every dollar our chapter donates is doubled. We've contributed to state game agencies, school habitat projects, pheasant pen builds, and species recovery work across our region.
Sensory Safari
We bring hands-on big game mounts and skins to schools, libraries, and community events — letting visually impaired participants experience the scale, texture, and story of animals they'd never otherwise encounter.
Helping Others
Safari Blue Bag drives, VA fishing outings, Soldiers and Sailors missions, and youth event days. Practical support, delivered by hunters, for the people in our community who need it most.
Certified Scorers
Local SCI-certified measurers are available to score your big game trophies for the SCI Record Book.

"We're not here to be a trophy on someone's wall. We're here to make sure there's still wild ground worth hunting fifty years from now."
