Get Your Trophy in the Book.
The SCI Record Book is the gold-standard encyclopedia of big-game animals — and our chapter has SCI-certified scorers right here in East Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania who can measure your trophy to official standards.
What Scoring Is
SCI’s Record Book documents big-game animals using a standardized measurement system applied across hundreds of species. Antler scores, horn scores, skull measurements, body dimensions — all recorded to specifications that allow comparison across years and continents.
Certified scorers are SCI members trained and credentialed by SCI International to apply these measurements correctly. Their scoring is what makes a Record Book entry official.
Why Members Score Their Trophies
Recognition
Entry into the SCI Record Book is a permanent record of the animal, the hunt, the date, and the hunter — preserved as part of the largest hunting database in the world.
Award Eligibility
SCI Record Book entries are required for many SCI awards programs, including species-specific recognitions, Grand Slams, and the Inner Circle program.
History
Long after the mount comes down and the freezer empties, the Record Book entry remains. It's how this generation hands the story to the next.

How It Works
Step 1 — Contact a Scorer Directly
Reach out to the scorer in your area using the contact info above. Most scoring happens by appointment at the scorer's home, a member's home, or a mutually convenient location.
Step 2 — Bring Your Trophy and Documentation
Bring the trophy (antlers, horns, skull) along with hunt documentation — date, location, weapon, outfitter (if applicable).
HistoStep 3 — Wait the Drying Period
SCI standards require a 60-day drying period from harvest before official scoring. Plan accordingly.
Step 4 — Submit to SCI
After scoring, you (or the scorer) submit the entry to SCI's Record Book.
Step 5 — Receive Your Entry
SCI records the entry and notifies you of your official ranking. Award eligibility is determined from this entry.
