Five Programs. One Mission.
Every dollar this chapter raises lands in one of five places — youth education, conservation, sensory safaris, community outreach, or record book scoring. This is the work that defines us between fundraisers.
A chapter is only as good as the programs it funds. Below are the five areas where the East Ohio / Northwest Pennsylvania Chapter puts hunters’ dollars to work — locally, regionally, and in some cases worldwide. Each one has a story. Most of them have decades of history behind them. All of them depend on members and supporters showing up.
We’re a 501(c) non-profit organization. We hold one major fundraiser a year. Every dollar that doesn’t go to keeping the lights on goes back into the field — into youth shooting programs, conservation grants, veteran outreach, and sensory safari events for the visually impaired.
Education
AWLS scholarships, the Millcreek Marksmen 4-H Club, and youth outreach — building tomorrow's hunters and the teachers who'll mentor them.
Conservation Projects
Through SCI's Matching Grants program, every dollar we donate is doubled — supporting state agencies, habitat projects, and species recovery across our region.
Sensory Safari
Hands-on big game mounts and skins that let visually impaired participants experience the scale and story of wildlife from around the world.
Helping Others
Safari Blue Bag drives, VA fishing outings, Soldiers & Sailors missions, and the practical community work that hunters quietly carry out year-round.
Certified Scorers
Local SCI-trained measurers who can score your big game trophies for the official SCI Record Book — free to chapter supporters.
DONATED TO DATE
Across all five program areas — and counting.
Want to put your support behind this work?
The simplest way is to join SCI through our chapter — your membership keeps the work funded year-round. The second-best way is to show up to the annual dinner.
