Safari Club International reports that leaders from Pennsylvania’s SCI chapters met in August at the Keystone Elk Country Alliance in Benezette, in the heart of the state’s elk range. It was a statewide working session rather than a social meeting.
Leaders from the Blue Mountain, Pittsburgh and Lehigh Valley chapters attended, along with chapter presidents and board members. An SCI Director-at-Large, a Regional Representative and two SCI staff members joined them.
The partnership with the Alliance is not new. Over the years, Pennsylvania’s seven SCI chapters have together contributed more than $200,000 to special projects there.
Our chapter serves hunters in Northwest Pennsylvania as well as East Ohio. When chapters line up their priorities, hunters get a louder voice in Harrisburg and more impact on the ground. SCI calls the meeting a model for other states with several chapters.
